If you live in North Somerset or South Gloucestershire, your GP can refer you to the BUA under the innovative 'GP Care' urology diagnostic scheme.
We work in conjunction with your GP to provide a flexible and responsive 'one stop' assessment appointment to rapidly diagnose and recommend treatment for a number of urological symptoms.
The benefits of this scheme are:
- You are guaranteed to be offered an appointment within 14 days if your GP considers your case to be urgent, or within 28 days in all other cases
- You are seen in a local community clinic rather than at a large NHS hospital (specialist clinics are held in Clifton, Nailsea and Yate)
- The service is delivered via a single 30 minute appointment
- Your care will be Consultant-led by our dedicated BUA urology team
- At your appointment you will be given a diagnostic report to take away with you, outlining treatment recommendations and any further action required by your GP. This will also be faxed to your GP on the same day.
